Fanzingo was founded in 2005 with the aim of creating practical and financial opportunities for young storytellers in film, TV, radio, stage and other forms of culture and media to realize their ideas. The first seeds of Fanzingo were sown back in 2002 when the program Fanzine-TV was produced for SVT from the Fanzingo house in Alby. From the beginning, the association has also worked for the development of different media and forms of expression.
In 2006, the organization received its first project support from the Swedish Inheritance Fund and was able to develop methods for young people to develop their own storytelling and create bold, groundbreaking productions.
In 2017, the Fanzingo Foundation was established and the organization became a foundation.
During the more than 20 years that the business has existed in Alby , Fanzingo has been established as a knowledge hub and important production company to increase breadth and diversity in the media and society. The business is driven by the conviction that individuals can grow by unleashing their creative power and the belief that democracy develops by more voices and perspectives being heard in society.
Through thousands of productions, trainings and projects, Fanzingo has helped more than 60,000 underrepresented young people to spread their voice and hundreds of actors to become more inclusive.
